The great land of Canada - a vast country covering an area of 3,511,000 sq miles (approx 9,093,500 sq kilometres) and occupying a major portion of northern North America. Canada shares borders with 13 US States in the south (including those fringing the great lakes), plus the State of Alaska which borders both British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.
Canada has ten provinces namely: British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and three territories: Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Canada is the largest country on the North American continential plate. It has the longest coastline in the world at 243,000 kilometres (approx 151,000 miles) bordering with the Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean.
