We are on our way for a new and exciting adventure!! I'm going to skip ahead from the last blog and fill you in on what we're up to right now (I'll bring the last couple of months up to date shortly). Today we left Toronto after having stored the camper and truck for the winter, and flew at midday to Winnipeg - a flight lasting around 2 1/2 hours. The weather in Ontario has been unseasonably warm - actually hot, with temperatures reaching 25 degrees celsius and even over 30 with the humidity. Crazy for autumn - but the fall colours have still been outstanding in places.
The temperature in Winnipeg was somewhat different from Ontario being a cool 2 degrees, so it was a shock to the system once we stepped outside the airport to wait for our shuttle. We were transferred to our hotel, the Holiday Inn (which was meant to be out at the airport but was actually 15-20 minutes away) where we were to stay one night before catching an early flight to Churchill in the morning (very early - ouch)!!
Once checked in and organised for the next day, we decided to walk a few kilometres up the road for dinner. We thought we were heading to an establishment that resembled a Mongolian Grill but as it turned out, it was actually a fast food joint instead. After that disappointment we decided to catch a city bus to the Red Lobster and enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner of lobster and shrimps - mmmm not a bad substitute! We caught the bus back to the hotel then settled in for an early night!
